The first week of the Spring 2021 semester is almost complete! This week ChicagoCHEC announced it received a multimillion-dollar grant and the Ask Me! Student Services Live Chat launched on 91����’s website.

Angelina Pedroso, for whom 91���� named its multicultural center after her 44-year career as a respected Spanish language and Hispanic literature educator, died on Oct. 7 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was 90 years old.

As part of 91����’s celebration of Black Heritage Month, the Genocide and Human Rights in Africa and the Diaspora (GHRAD) Center will host its 7th annual conference featuring international speakers and experts in the field. Northeastern has named a new Vice President for Student Affairs/Dean of Students, and Student Leadership Development has shared readings of children’s books for a virtual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service.

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker announced on March 19 that starting in August 2021, all Illinois public universities will become part of the Common Application (Common App). Additionally, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation awarded a grant to the Prison + Neighborhood Arts/Education Project, and President Gibson issued a statement about the shootings in Atlanta, Georgia. The conviction of Derek Chauvin for the murder of George Floyd made headlines across the country. Here at Northeastern, President Gloria J.
