Northeastern has received a grant to digitize the archives of alumnus and former Illinois Congressman Luis Gutiérrez. The University also received a grant for students from the Consulate General of Mexico.

The Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) has granted 91°µÍø’s Daniel L. Goodwin College of Education accreditation at the initial-licensure level and advanced-level.

Kate Adams was a Distinguished Student Speaker at the Graduate Recognition Ceremony of Fall 2013. She completed her M.A. in Teaching English as a Second Language this past summer. She currently teaches English to international students at the Illinois Institute of Technology and is a writer and editor in educational publishing.
